*Do you just bolt a panel on the roof?

Not exactly.  The existing roof comes off and the panel is installed along with trim to help protect the panel from bumps and dings.  The trimmed-out panel becomes the roof.  Many people will hardly notice the roof is a solar panel.

 

*What brand carts does it work with?

We typically stick to the top 3 manufacturers;  Club Car, EZ-Go, and Yamaha.  However with fabrication, we can fit the roof to most any manufacturer of cart.  Some will require simple adapter brackets while others will need new support struts.

 

 

*What charge controller do you use?

We proudly use Victron charge controllers which carry an IP43 rating and Deutsch wire connectors providing a weatherproof installation built for longevity.  

 

 

*How fast can it charge?

For 48v carts, you can expect around 5 amps or more of charge current.  In the summer when the sun is directly overhead, you may see that number go up to 7 amps.  For 36v carts, you can expect 7 amps or more of charge going to your batteries

 

 

*Does it damage the batteries?

No.  The charge controller keeps a steady charge on the batteries and when they get full, it stops charging and keeps them maintained.  Every 30 days it conditions the batteries to keep them optimal.  This results in an extended life of the battery pack by at least another 18 months.

 

 

*What if I still need to use my house charger?

The cart will retain its charging port and all abilities to use your factory OEM charger.

 

 

*What if I have side curtains?

Curtains are no problem.  The tracks to install the curtains can still be added or retained.

 

 

*Is there an app for checking my charge status?

Yes.  You can check the status of your battery pack and charge progress from up to 50ft away with a compatible iPhone or Android.  You’ll also see up to 30 days of charging history.

 

 

*What is the life expectancy of the panel?

15 years of >90% power delivery.

 

 

*Is there a warranty?

Absolutely.  Our panels are backed by a 15 year warranty. The charge controller carry a 5 year warranty. Installations are warrantied for one year.

 

 

*What if I buy another cart?

The roof is expected to last at least 15 years and changing over to another cart is not a problem.  If you go with another manufacturer, we’re happy to help swap the roof over to your next cart.
